United progress at Herrick Village in Racine with the teams from Realistic Builders, Erickson Carpentry & Habitat for Humanity of Racine and Kenosha Counties.

“At Realistic Builders, we believe being a home builder means more than simply constructing homes—it means investing in the communities where we live and work. Herrick Village is an incredible opportunity to help local families achieve affordable homeownership while strengthening a historic Racine neighborhood. We’re proud to support Habitat for Humanity of Racine and Kenosha Counties through both our financial commitment and, just as importantly, by putting our team’s skills to work alongside great local industry partners like Erickson Carpentry.” — Oliver Debe, Vice President, Realistic Builders

Whether helping on a construction site, supporting the ReStore, or assisting with community events, volunteers play an essential role in advancing Habitat’s mission.  Every hour of service contributes to a larger effort in expanding access to safe, decent, and affordable housing in Racine and Kenosha Counties. Habitat for Humanity of Racine and Kenosha Counties welcomes volunteers of all backgrounds and skill levels. No construction experience is necessary, and training is provided for many opportunities. Individuals, families, faith groups, corporate teams, and community organizations are encouraged to get involved.

“Our team works in the building trades every day, so having the opportunity to use those skills to give back to our community is especially meaningful. We’re excited to work alongside Realistic Builders and Habitat for Humanity to keep Herrick Village moving forward. At the end of the day, this is about local builders and tradespeople coming together to help Racine families have a place they can proudly call home.” — Jeff Erickson, Owner, Erickson Carpentry

For several years, Habitat for Humanity of Racine and Kenosha Counties have dreamed of building a development dedicated to providing families with affordable homeownership opportunities. That time has come! Imagine a new community providing safe and stable homes, while also sparking the revitalization of one of Racine’s historic neighborhoods. Herrick Village will feature 12 new construction homes. Each home will feature 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a single-car garage. As with every Habitat home we build, they will be sold to our approved partner families at an affordable cost to serve as a hand-up to low-income families.
